On behalf of the children, staff and governors it is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our school website.
As Principal here at Great Addington, I feel privileged to be part of such a welcoming community who hold it’s Christian values at the heart of all they strive to achieve. As a Church of England Primary School within the Diocese of Peterborough we seek to reflect the example and teaching of Jesus Christ as set out in the Gospel the represents our school vision. “Our love should not be just words and talk. It must be true love, which shows itself in action.” John 15 Verse 12. Our school values of love, care, respect, forgiveness and excellence are celebrated throughout our school and are at the core of all we do. Our small-but-mighty school is a family community where everyone learns to love and is truly valued.
We aim provide creative, memorable and inclusive learning experiences within enriching classroom environments. We endeavour to explore how learning can be immersive, curious, imaginative and can push children to achieve heights they might not have known existed. I hope that our learning objectives will aim to challenge thinking, develop confidence, encourage risk-taking and show children how to shape their own futures.
By following the children’s interests, nurturing each spark and celebrating their achievements here at Great Addington, we hope that we can help our children to become the best version of themselves and ready to take on the world!
We aim to ensure that all students achieve the best possible results and academic achievements that open pathways to the best opportunities, next steps, and future life chances. But at Great Addington ‘success’ is more than just ‘testing’ and academic results. It is the opportunity for students to experience achievement in the widest sense from sporting competitions to the art projects, from leadership such as our Sports Crew and School Council to community activities such as gardening with our village Horticultural Society.
Please explore our website and enjoy learning more about our fantastic school. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us; we are always happy to show visitors around so do come and visit and see us in action.
With warmest regards,
Lucy Kingsnorth,
Principal
